Overview
During the 2021 Epic Mega Game Jam I teamed up with 5 of my friends to make a game in 1 week. The theme of this jam was "Running out of Space". From this theme we came up with the idea of a Strategy/Puzzle game in-which you are tasked with creating a habitable planet for a growing human population. However the humans will continually fill the planet with trash, and the less happy they are with their living conditions, the more trash they produce. You can build various buildings such as recyclers to process trash into resources, or things like tree farms and water purifiers that will improve the planets living conditions. The goal of the game is to maintain the happiness of the humans as their population grows.
I worked as a Game designer and programmer on this project. I worked mostly on implementing the player controls/interaction mechanics, and the behaviour and happiness mechanics for the human NPCs.
